3 Ways to Wear It: Party Slippers
We show you how to style a pair of Party Slippers three ways, with each look varying in formality from ‘dressy’ to ‘downtime’.
At Harry Rosen, we strongly believe in building sustainable wardrobes. Before we purchase anything new, we put thorough consideration into how and where we’ll wear it — and perhaps most importantly, what we’ll wear it with.
Here, we like to assess a new purchase or commission’s versatility by pairing it with the wardrobe staples we already own.
Today, we’re profiling Party Slippers—the thin-soled slip-ons traditionally worn with formal eventwear — by showing you how we would dress it up and down by building out a few ‘fits.
The Dressy
Party Slippers’ claim to fame is being the footwear of choice for the most formal of outfits, so it’s only natural we’ve paired ours here with a cocktail jacket and tuxedo pants. The off-white jacket, crisp white tuxedo shirt, and black satin-striped tuxedo trousers are classics that combine with the light brown suede slippers to create a very ‘Old Hollywood’-esque look that never goes out of style.
The Daily
Contrary to their name, you can also wear Party Slippers for more mundane activities as well, so why not inject a little fun into your day-to-day? These slippers’ mid-suede finish means they’ll work with essentially anything, but especially more textured fabrics like flannel or denim. Dress up your favourite dark jeans with a fine-gauge turtleneck and then toss on an unconstructed sports jacket overtop for an elevated casual ‘fit you can pretty much go anywhere in.
The Downtime
Everyone tends to dress down when it’s after-hours or on the weekend, but that doesn’t mean there’s no room for your favourite Party Slippers to join in on the action. Pull on your softest, most worn-in light wash jeans and anchor a chunky cardigan with a simple white tee to create a casual look that’s ideal for grabbing a pint at your local or sitting in front of the fireplace with a great book.
