With over a million followers on Instagram, a passionate cult-following from television appearances on both RuPaul’s Drag Race and Canada’s Drag Race, a CV littered with professional dance and drag appearances, and an unmistakable look and energy, Brooke Lynn Hytes is a Canadian sensation synonymous with style and self-expression.

As the utmost champions of authenticity and unique personal style, we made it our mission to connect with Brooke Lynn Hytes to collaborate on some special custom-made garments ahead of Pride this year.

Brooke brought the vision and through Harold, our private tailoring label, we were able to bring everything to life. From concept to final product, Brooke’s input lead every step of the way, including how every custom-made garment fit, her fabrics and linings of choice, and all the finishing touches.

Chrome Corset

A true one-of-a-kind garment, this look is unmistakably Brooke. The concept for this was born from a classic black tuxedo that Brooke made on her own with a few specific ideas.

Brooke opted for a slightly cropped fit on the tuxedo jacket, which was made from a luminous black wool featuring a satin notch lapel.

Then, to drag it up a bit, Brooke and her team added their own details including a standout chrome corset and zipper front creases on the trousers.

Q: What was your inspiration behind the chrome corset look and how did the Harold custom-made process help you bring it to life?

A: “I wanted something bold, futuristic, and fierce—like fashion armor. The chrome corset was about strength and glamour. Harold brought it to life flawlessly, tailoring every curve and making sure it fit like a glove while still making a statement.”

Q: How do you like to express your individuality and personal style through fashion and in the workroom?

A: “Fashion is how I show the world who I am. I love mixing elegance with edge — something bold, polished, and unexpected. In the workroom, my look has to reflect confidence and control, but always with a wink of glamour.”

White, Silky, and Stylish

Brooke went with a luxurious off-white fabric on this custom two-piece suit, channeling an ‘80s-inpired vibe perfect for the dance floor or a glamourous summer event.

The lightweight fabric was contrasted with a strong shoulder and wide leg, allowing for plenty of fabric drape and movement throughout.

Brooke and her team finished this look off by adding “peekaboo” cutouts across the jacket and trousers.

Q: What are your favourite parts of the custom-made process?

A: “I love being hands-on. From picking fabrics to that first fitting — it’s exciting to watch a look come together just for you. It’s personal, precise, and feels like true collaboration.”

Q: What about your Harold experience and your final custom ‘fits make you look and feel your best’?

A: “Harold nailed it. The suits are sharp, luxurious, and made with so much care. I feel strong, stylish, and totally myself in them — exactly how great tailoring should make you feel.”

Strong and Structured

Inspired by the structured silhouettes of classic English tailoring, this two-piece suit features strong shoulder padding and interior canvassing. The mid-grey wool colour plays into the traditional tailoring vibes, which are contrasted with Brooke’s personal styling details.

The jacket’s front button closure and sleeve cuffs are replaced with stylish black buckles, which are echoed down the entire outseam of the trousers.

Q: This look is so classic yet so modern; do you see the structured, British-influenced tailoring style still trending today?

A: “Definitely. That sharp, structured tailoring is timeless — but when you add modern touches, like the buckles on this suit, it feels fresh again. It's clean, powerful, and always in style.”

Q: What does personalized service mean to you?

A: “It means being truly seen. As someone with unique needs — especially in drag — having a team that understands your body, your style, and your vision makes all the difference.”
